Coming Up Short is going back to its roots to celebrate its big 3-oh as Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine fly solo on this week’s episode. Not only do the pair discuss having reached the milestone of 30 episodes, but we talk some serious business about comedy.
This week’s episode discusses comedy contests and what it’s like to have other’s judge your work. They also talk about constructive criticism and when it’s actually destructive. Jon and Eric also tell the story of their Thursday night jaunt to a new mic in Fort Lauderdale and who’s responsibility is it (the comedian’s or the host’s) to know when it’s time to get off stage if it isn’t happening.

Coming Up Short is truly living up to its name this week as Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine welcome comedian and fellow height-challenged individual Dylan Starr to the Chula Vista Studios. Not only does this mark the 29th episode of the Coming Up Short podcast, but it’s also Eric’s birthday!
The three ‘shunned by heightist women on dating sites’ fellows relive Dylan’s start in comedy, how and why he’s such a big Drake fan, and the fact that he won’t reveal any of his personal kinks or fetishes on air. They also discuss Jon’s recent TV commercial debut and the upcoming shows that each are participating in.
Dylan, Eric and Jon also focus on the Standup Spotlight of the Week, comedian and filmmaker extraordinaire Sean Beagan.
I used to do TV commercials when I was a kid, around the ages of 4-7. I hadn’t even thought about doing them again until I got into standup comedy. So, I took some head shots, got an agent, and began auditioning.
A couple of months ago, I participated in a commercial shoot that was of ‘hidden camera’ type for an energy company. Well, the commercial just debuted and I’m in it!
I make a couple of appearances starting around the 1 minute mark. Check it out!
